Motivational Speaker

by

I have spoken at hundreds of events over the years. One of the more recent ones was the guest speaker at the 2017 Spruce Mountain High School Graduation. It is a little bit hard to understand because video and the microphone in the auditorium but that is why you should hire me. Ha, ha, ha. it is easier to understand in person.

I have not done very much motivational speaking recently, because with today’s economy, most school systems want me to come for free. So I came up with a different way to get my messages out there. Laughter is a very good learning tool, so I am starting to bring my unique style of stand-up comedy to high schools as a fundraiser for Project Grad, and to colleges all over New England.

However I do accept a few a year:

The Board of Directors of Maine Youth Leadership invited me back for the eighteen years in a row to be a Keynote Speaker at the 2023 Maine Youth Leadership Seminar. It is being held at the University of Southern Maine, Gorham Campus to a group of 120 students and 50 staff members of their all volunteer organization. The four day seminar is to promote practical skills of planning, decision-making, facilitating and reasoning to our youth. By doing activities and bringing some of Maine leaders like Governor Angus King to talk about their experiences. The Seminar Co-Chair  said “last year your segment of the seminar was rated WOW on all of our surveys and was number one over all!”

2012 “I would just like to thank you for coming to speak at the Maine Youth Leadership Seminar in Gorham this past weekend. You were the first speaker we had to give a presentation once we got there, and after the weekend was finished, you were still the most interesting, inspirational, funny speaker we had. Your presentation was by far my favorite, and it really started off the weekend on a good note for me. A common theme of the seminar was to look at the world with judgement-free eyes, and you were the one who helped me the most to really realize how important that was. I admire you so much, and I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your presentation. You really taught me to look at the positive parts of my life and take nothing for granted. You have a great sense of humor even though your life may have been different from others, and that showed me that I really need to appreciate everything I have, no matter how small it is, or how much I think it doesn’t matter. Your story was just so amazing to me, and I still can’t stop thinking about it. I’m only a sophomore but I’m already thinking of asking my teachers if you would ever be able to come in and make a presentation at my school, and I loved how your project grad fundraiser comedy shows sound, because I’m also friends with Oliver Keithly’s son(the owner of the Comedy Connection), and I would definitely enjoy setting something up! Again, thank you so much, and keep up the great work. You have support from everyone and I’ll be spreading the word:)”

A professor at the Valley Community College asked me to speak to her college class, Psycho-Social Needs of Students with Disabilities, for the eighth year in a row. Some are in the Special Education Program; others are in the Speech Therapy Program But graduates of both programs most often work in schools helping students with disabilities.

And many, many more.
